I absolutely agree.

The only meaningful milestone is 2000, because then, you get your custom title. I think that, given the spate of users who monotonously post on the game threads, you should have to wait until perhaps 5, or even 8 thousand for your personal title.

The other thing that no-one seems to realise is - no-one actually cares. If you start a congratulations thread, the person in question might grin and smile. That's it. No-one else on the forum gives a shit. They click, the post, they move on, they've already forgotten.

They need to stop. Seriously.

Well, I think they're already an established part of forum life as well as these threads and it probably won't change...unless they start a separate forum for congratulatory threads.

Actually, I agree. I cringe when I see someone has made one for me, yet feel obligated to say thanks. Strange but true, I'd rather not have any in my honor. Thanks.

 

I liked it when Bug started a 420 thread for me. It was just a wee bit different from the usual. I've got to agree with Orion; 2000 is a milestone as you get to choose your title. Other than that they are pretty redundant, especially for those who post in the games threads 99% of the time...

i personally like the congratulation threads i think its nice that some people go out there way to post a thread to another person which doesnt have any benifit to themselves it definatly is so much better than all the threads in the gd that are just sniping at each other ...
